چکیده

Aims. On the Sun, jets in light bridges (LBs) are frequently observed with high-resolution instruments. The respective roles played by convection and magnetic field triggering such not yet clear. Methods. We report a small fan-shaped jet along LB 1.6m Goode Solar Telescope (GST) TiO Broadband Filter Imager (BFI), Visible Imaging Spectrometer (VIS) H α , Near-InfraRed Spectropolarimeter (NIRIS), Stokes parameters. high spatial temporal resolution of those instruments allowed us to analyze features identified during event. By constructing Dopplergrams, we found that plasma is first moving upward, whereas second phase jet, flowing back. Working time slice diagrams, investigated propagation-projected speed fan its bright base. Results. developed within few minutes, diverging beams. At base, point was slipping ultimately invaded umbra sunspot. profiles points enhanced intensity wings, similarly case Ellerman bombs. Co-temporally, extreme ultraviolet (EUV) brightenings at front dark material moved same as fan, leading propose compressed heated ambient extremities corona. Conclusions. Our multi-wavelength analysis indicates could result from reconnection across highly low chromosphere, an apparent motion LB. However, did find any opposite polarity would typically be expected configuration. therefore discuss other plausible physical mechanisms, based on waves convection, may have triggered

Jet Noise Suppression with Fan Flow Deflectors in Realistic-shaped Nozzle

This is an exploratory study of jet noise reduction using fan flow deflectors in a nozzle shaped like the exhaust of a separate-flow turbofan engine with bypass ratio 4.8. The deflectors directed the bypass plume downward and/or sideward relative to the core plume. Vaneand wedge-type deflectors were tested. The noise reduction achieved by the vane deflector was strong in the downward direction ...

Types of Martian Fan - Shaped Sedimentary Deposits

Introduction: Deltas, fans and channels on Mars clearly indicate surface water in the past. These landforms contain valuable information about the duration and magnitude of surface-water flow, with obvious implications for potential life on Mars. Martian fan-shaped deposits such as deltas and alluvial fans show architectural elements similar to those of terrestrial analogs, e.g. lobes, terraces...

Pavonis Mons Fan-shaped Deposits - a Cold-based Glacial Model

Introduction: Each of the three Tharsis Montes volcanoes on Mars has unusual fan-shaped deposits located exclusively to the northwest of each shield. The fan-shaped deposits of the Tharsis Montes generally share three major facies: 1) Ridged facies, 2) Knobby facies, and 3) Smooth facies. Here we examine the Pavonis fan-shaped deposits using new Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Odyssey data. Any e...

Twin-shaped Cfrp-sandwich Pedestrian Bridge

A concept of a nature-inspired pedestrian bridge which tries to merge architectural, structural and manufacturing aspects in an optimized way is presented. The 18.0-m-span bridge is designed as an overhead spatial frame of a complex double-curved shape, which is composed of twelve modules consisting of lightweight carbon fiberreinforced polymer (CFRP) sandwich construction. The modules are fabr...

Aerodynamics of Fan Flow Deflectors for Jet Noise Suppression

We present a three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes investigation of the impact on nozzle aerodynamic performance of deflector vanes used for noise suppression in separate-flow turbofan engines. The vanes are installed in the bypass duct and deflect the bypass plume downward relative to the core plume. This study considers a single pair of vanes, with a NACA 0012 airfoil section, ins...
